The Playhouse Project is back to make your children dance!  Following on from the success of our sell out Festive Family Rave with Agent J, we are back at The Refuge with DJ Veba (Grand Central Records, Groove Armada, HOMOBLOC, La Discothèque) plus Manchester Legend MC Kwasi ( Mr Scruff, Friends & Family, Dub Smugglers, Mungo's Hi Fi, So Flute, Mikey D.O.N).

THE PLAYHOUSE PROJECT is an exclusive family rave experience. Organised by a crew of ex-ravers and DJs who are now parents. We keep the crew dancing by providing top DJs, dancers, club lighting, visuals, bubble machines, inflatables, dancefloor activities and giant balloons.

The basement bar will be open selling adults and kids drinks. Plus the restaurant in the public bar, will be serving food throughout the day.

About DJ Veba

(Rae & Christian, Groove Armada, HOMOBLOC, La Discothèque). DJ Veba is one of Manchester's finest DJ's and greatest soul singers, Veba provided her unique vocal skills for one of the most inspirational soul tunes ever to be produced in Manchester "Spellbound" by Rae & Christian released in 1996. Veba's gospel tones have appeared on a number of Groove Armarda tunes.

We are well hyped to welcome Master of Ceromonies Kwasi a true Manchester Legend (Community Charge, Friends & Family club night, Mr Scruff, Dub Smugglers, Mungo's Hifi, So Flute).

  • This event is aimed at 0-8 year old's (activities are for this age range)  however older children are welcome to attend.
  • Please remember that you remain 100% responsible for your children at all times.
  • Limited space for buggies and no buggies inside the rave, please come without where possible.
  • Please do not leave alcoholic drinks unattended.
  • Adults must be accompanied by a responsible child ;)
  • Safety - The venue will be busy with a limited amount of seating. We advise parents of young babies to wear a sling particularly on the dance-floor.
  • Music will be set to the recommended levels for little ears.
  • Expect child-safe club lighting, no strobe lighting used.
  • Please no running or rowdy behavior (this includes parents) ;)
  • Photography / Video - There will be a photographer at the event, some shots will be used for publicity. Please inform a member of staff on arrival if you do not want your little ones to be photographed.
