DJ and Producer METRODOME will be joining us and creating a vibe with a very exclusive DJ show. We are MEGA excited to welcome Metrodome, expect all genres & styles for this very special DJ set.
Best described as a prodigious talent who’s been DJ'ing in clubs since he was 8 years old, people say he’s able to play any instrument put in front of him. Metrodome is a hugely experienced producer and DJ who has been a key part of Manchester's music scene, he has produced for and performed with, a huge array of artists including IAMDDB, LEVELZ, Blah Records, The Mouse Outfit, Zed Bias, Red Laser Records and worked for the BBC, Channel 4 and MTV.

THE PLAYHOUSE PROJECT is a daytime clubbing experience for the whole family, Aimed at parents that miss their dancing days. Planting positive seeds and vibes into the next generation of music lovers in our city. Organised by a crew of seasoned clubbers and DJ's from the Manchester scene that are now parents.
Bookings are now OPEN (select standard indoor seating pre booking essential) we are expecting high demand, don't miss out!

Following on from the success of our sell out party with VEBA X Lil' Fee & MC Kwasi. THE PLAYHOUSE PROJECT returns to The Refuge to celebrate Mothers day with Disco Mums ( MIF, Red Laser Disco, Back to Basics, Electric Elephant, Festival No.6, Huey 54).  Plus MC KWASI,  Mr Scruff's mic man of choice (AIM, Rae & Christian, Friends and Family, So Flute, Dub Smugglers & Mungo's HiFi).

Expect to hear anything from Soul ,House, Techno, Disco, Boogie, Reggae, Italo, Pop…..no barriers, no restrictions, just proper good times. Plus a few surprises when Manchester legend MC KWASI gets on he mic, bringing good vibes to the dance-floor.

Disco Mums are an all female Manchester based DJ collective of seasoned clubbers (now proud parents) who are still out, still on it &...still playing records.

Influenced by the scene in Manchester over the past 20 years, their roots are in nights like Electric Chair, Aficionado, Friends & Family, Homoelectric and Bugged Out. They've been partying hard and collecting music for more than 15 years, and in the past few years they've been having the time of their lives flexing their vinyl record collections as Disco Mums.

We keep the crew dancing by providing top DJs, dancers, club lighting, visuals, bubble machines, inflatables, dancefloor activities and giant balloons. Chill out activities - themed craft tables, play dough areas, chill out zone, book corner, face painting & glitter bar, funky cake stall.
The basement bar will be open selling adults and kids drinks. Plus the restaurant in the public bar, will be serving food throughout the day.

About DJ Veba

(Rae & Christian, Groove Armada, HOMOBLOC, La Discothèque). DJ Veba is one of Manchester's finest DJ's and greatest soul singers, Veba provided her unique vocal skills for one of the most inspirational soul tunes ever to be produced in Manchester "Spellbound" by Rae & Christian released in 1996. Veba's gospel tones have appeared on a number of Groove Armarda tunes.

About DJ Agent J / Groovement

DJ Agent J / Groovement is a well known selector, writer and presenter on the Manchester scene. Originally known for DJing and curating events for Fat City. Founder of In The Loop, a hugely influential community orientated Manchester Hip Hop club night, with the Loop crew warming up for Ultramagnetic MCs| Jungle Brothers| RZA| Raekwon | Pharoahe Monche to name a few.

Agent J can be found DJing across the city and often plays ahead of visiting hip hop and soul acts. Past artists include Norman Jay MBE | Huey Morgan | Craig Charles | Nightmares on Wax | Blackalicous and plenty more.     Information: Dave Beer needs no introduction to the dance scene. DJ, producer and promoter of the legendary BackToBasics the world's longest running house night. The music policy of BackToBasics is to bring high quality underground house music to the rave.

    Nicknamed " King of Clubs" by Mixmag

    Dave is resident DJ at the following UK Festivals Glastonbury, Bestival, No.6 and Gottwood. As well as being resident at his own club Church Leeds, over the years Dave has also held a residency at We Love Space, Pacha and Home in London.

    PLAYHOUSE PROJECT will be bringing all the usual fun, free glow sticks, top DJs, club lighting, visuals, bubble machines, inflatables and giant balloons. When the fun gets too much for the kids there are chill out activities such as craft tables, play doh areas, soft play, book corner and face painting. The bar will be open and food will be served throughout the event.
